David Franklin was named the ninth director of the Cleveland Museum of Art in 2010. I watched Sister Wendy's PBS special on the Cleveland Museum of Art before going to the museum and read this book afterwards. Liked the book very much.

David Franklin was named the ninth director of the Cleveland Museum of Art in 2010. A renowned expert in the Italian Renaissance and baroque periods, he is a native of Canada and previously served as the deputy director and chief curator of the National Gallery of Art in Ottawa. David Franklin is an art historian with expertise in Italian Renaissance art, a curator, and a former art museum director. David Franklin is employed by the Thomson Collection in Toronto, Ontario. On April 8, 2015, he gave his first public lecture under this affiliation at the National Gallery of Canada's Wednesday Morning Lecture Series, focusing his remarks on Piero de Cosimo's painting.
