If we would have had a book like this, and worked on the exercises together, it would have made broaching and facing these issues much, much easier than me attempting to bring them up cold with no support. And it would have made them clearer than I was able to articulate at the time. I find it much easier to discuss mechanical things and sports than relationship issues and my emotional needs.
