Writer Stephen Levine was born July 17, 1937, in Albany, New York, the child of chemist father Clarence and mother Ruth Levine. In 1965, Levine founded the San Francisco Oracle and continued his career in publishing. In the mid-to-late 1950s Levine attended the University of Miami; shortly thereafter he published his first work, A Resonance of Hope (1959).

Broadraven

A lot of repetition surrounding kernels of wisdom. I read this while deep in grief and while it gave me some reasons to hope for the future, its main benefit was putting me to sleep at night because the book was rather challenging to get through. I added it to my growing library of books on grief, and while it wasn't the most helpful book I acquired, I found bits and pieces of information within it that made it an acceptable purchase.

We are living in a mean spirited age of hardcore Materialism and Reductionism. The Dogma that is constantly trumped into our minds Death is the End and there is nothing after has had a terrible impact on society.
Thank God for Stephen Levine, reading this book will help us embrace our Divine and Eternal Nature of Love. We need not fear Death. Death is not the end. Death is just moving from one plane of existence to another. While we are here we should be kind to one another and appreciate each moment we have together. Thank you Stephen Levine for your bright shining light of love and peace.

I chose this because both of these books, Meetings and Who dies, are important to me at this point in my life....they are clear and speaking a truth regarding dying. I work at hospice hospital and need all the help I can get - as I think that dying is one of those most important of all moments in our lives and we could use some much needed insight into letting go and just being...emptying those parts of us which are holding us back from wholeness....
