This work also looks at Cleveland's cultural development within the national context. It deals with the great cultural institutions that were founded in the years of greatness between 1900 and 1920.

With Rarick Witchey, he authored Fine Arts in Cleveland: An Illustrated History in 1994. This was followed in 2001 with Showtime in Cleveland: The Rise of a Regional Theater Center

With Rarick Witchey, he authored Fine Arts in Cleveland: An Illustrated History in 1994. This was followed in 2001 with Showtime in Cleveland: The Rise of a Regional Theater Center. For his efforts with this book, the Early Settlers Association of the Western Reserve gave him the Herrick Memorial Award. Vacha followed his prize-winning book with The Music Went 'Round and Around: The Story of Musicarnival in 2004. Musicarnival was considered to be the last commercially legitimate theater in Cleveland

Sports in Cleveland: An Illustrated History, is an offshoot of the encyclopedia which delves into the history of amateur and pro sports from 1796-1990. In 145 pages of text that is supplemented by numerous photographs, Grabowski explores the popular sleigh races down Euclid Avenue in the winter months of the 1800s to the plans for the then-named Gateway Stadium project.

The Arts in Cleveland surveys the "fine arts" - visual art, music, dance, theater, and belles lettres - from the time of the settlement of Cleveland in 1796 to the present. It also looks at Cleveland's cultural development within the national context. The first four chapters deal with the nineteenth century, including changing tastes in the first half of the century, the increasing sophistication of the post-Civil War era, and the role of philanthropy in the fine arts in the period from 1880 to 1900.
