Carol Staudacher is a grief consultant, lecturer, and author of Beyond Grief and Men and Grief. This book was so helpful to both my daughter and myself after my husband died. It is not a "how to" grieve book, but a comforting book that almost seems instinctual in addressing common questions and thoughts of people experiencing loss.

Carol Staudacher's book "A Time to Grieve" has been a valuable resource for me. I lost numerous loved ones and it has helped me in my grieving process. The book has very short chapters which I use as references when I am dealing with certain issues. As a bereavement support person with a hospice organization, I found this book to be a pleasant-enough collection of reflections for those who grieve, helpfully collected into three general "eras" of the grieving experience. It helps you through the effects of the loss, feelings of sadness, guilt, yearning, anger, confusion, and my fears

It helps you through the effects of the loss, feelings of sadness, guilt, yearning, anger, confusion, and my fears. There are writings of other survivors who are trying to cope going through the same thing. This book has helped me in my darkest moments. My husband has been gone now for 5 years but the pain is still there.

A Time to Grieve - Carol Staudacher. This book is divided into three sections that correspond to the three broad and fluid phases of grief: Retreating, Working Through, and Resolving. In other words, this is not the kind of book that should be read progressively, from front to back.

After losing my husband suddenly to a massive heart attack I wandered aimlessly. This is a great book, especially for a first-time mourner. It breaks down the grieving process into manageable pieces, one issue at a time

After losing my husband suddenly to a massive heart attack I wandered aimlessly. I found help through support groups, but not through reading. My eyes would well with tears just minutes into any book I tried to read. Then I found "A Time to Grieve" - it allowed me to read one page, discover how and why I felt as I did and gave me strength and guidance to grow. It breaks down the grieving process into manageable pieces, one issue at a time. Each question or feeling is discussed in one page, and you can skip around and read just the topics that are relevant at the moment.
