In developing this report, the IAEA has placed a specific emphasis on the needs of the developing world. As such the specifications and acceptance tests addressed in this publication are primarily intended for basic treatment planning systems. A basic treatment planning system is defined as one that has either or both two-dimensional (2-D) and threedimensional (3-D) calculation and display capabilities.
