Browning bad mouths Clark for the way he presented the facts about the Royal & Ancient Game. This is the definitive history of golf. Robert browning has developed a criteria that sets the standard for any future history of the sport. He regards his book ( browning's) as a more literatural interpretation. Both Browing's & Clarks books establish a firm base for my rendition and are excellent to read. Even though this is a history book, it is also very readable.
