This book is about the safety essentials for children at home.

Water safety starts at home. Provide close and constant attention to children you are supervising in or near water. Help be safer at the beach or pool, in the ocean or a river by enrolling in swim classes, and learning about water competency. Fence pools and spas with adequate barriers, including four-sided fencing. Learn swimming and water safety survival skills.

Note: These requirements can be done in a backyard pool (2–3 feet deep) with adult supervision. They do not require a lifeguard or water safety instructor.
