TOURQUAI, wonderfully written by Tim Davys and skillfully translated by Paul Norlen, is the third in a projected series of four crime novels that take place in an alternate world that reflects our own reality. The books are set in a municipality known as Mollisan Town, which is populated and governed by stuffed animals. Nonetheless, they pursue a number of likely suspects, including Emanuelle Cobra, the victim's secretary; Jasmine Squirrel, his mistress; Igor Panda, an unscrupulous art dealer with an unexpected tie to Vulture; and Oleg Earwig, an inventor who Vulture may have conned, albeit perfectly legally, out of a fortune.
HarperCollins, 15 февр. Tim Davys is a pseudonym. He is the author of Amberville, Lanceheim, and Tourquai, the first three books in the Mollisan Town quartet. A horrendous crime sets off a disturbing chain of events that will force the citizens of Mollisan Town to debate profound issues of free will and destiny in this powerful tale from the internationally acclaimed Tim Davys. In the Tourquai neighborhood of Mollisan Town, Superintendent Larry Bloodhound is the keeper of the peace and ruler of the streets. Библиографические данные.
The office was claustrophobic. The thought of how many hours of his life he had spent in there overwhelmed him. All those papers. Carelessly spread out, piled in collapsing heaps, wadded up in little balls, or stuck into coffee-stained plastic folders.

Harper Collins, 15 февр. A horrific crime sets off a disturbing chain of events in Tim Davy’s Mollisan Town. Like George Orwell’s Animal Farm, as well as the allegorical worlds of Neil Gaiman and Jasper Fforde, this sinister sequel to Lanceheim and Amberville illuminates our reality through a giddy paradoxical conceit-as in Tourquai, the stuffed animals who populate Mollisan Town will be forced to confront the deepest issues of love and servitude, free will and destiny, life and death. Still enjoyable, some characters are perfectly constructed in dialogue and narration.
Not as strong as the previous novels by Tim Davys. Still enjoyable, some characters are perfectly constructed in dialogue and narration. The overall story lacks a bit of consistency to keep me, as a reader, emerged. Must read, of course, if you enjoy Tim Davys' work. Jul 19, 2011 Ashlee rated it did not like it.
