On Earth, Photon is a game. I applaud Peter David (writing as David Peters) for the bold choice of setting a story based on a children's TV show in Nazi Germany during WWII (in turn teaching readers a bit of our nation's history), it left me a bit unsatisfied as what I loved about the TV series was the bizarre alien worlds that it presented.

Photon Lives and the LIGHT SHINES. This book is awesome. The story is fun and the character development is well worth it for any fan of Photon.

Anime fans will love this whole series! (Based on a Japanese live-action adventure TV series brought to the US in the mid-1980's on Saturday mornings)

Bhodi Li, secret identity Christopher Jarvis of Earth, is a member of the multi-race Photon Alliance out to save the universe from the evil Arrians. He's used to being the cocky, hotshot phaser-wielding marksman with a devilish sense of humor, constantly teasing his beautiful Amazon-warrior-type comrade, Tivia (who secret loves him but acts like he's not worth her time).

In this book, my second-favorite of the series, Bhodi goes back in time with haughty Tivia and 10-year-old Parcival to Nazi, Germany, just before D-day. While searching for the evil Mandarr, Tivia must face a mirror of her own prejudice toward men when SHE is the object of persecution due to her dark skin and hair.
