Golden Lama

This is the best book I’ve found for truly teaching math to 3-7 year olds. The book is better than others because it covers in detail each step for the that five year period. Other books are good for shorter time periods. My 3.5 year old is flying through math concepts and so it really helps to have a book that has a bit of runway.

It is also better than others because it has good ideas about math games you can play (dominos, dice, etc) as well as more formal lessons. There are no worksheets. Instead, it’s all about manipulative, popsicle sticks, and hundred boards. I would definitely buy this book if you are looking to provide early math literacy.

I love this book because it gives you everything, they why and how. Lots of advice and a very useful guide as a parent.
The only thing i would like to be better in the kindle eddition is that the chapter selection doen't work and in the index, the names of the chapters should be displayed. But the content and all what you can teach your child makes you forget these details. Thank you for your work.
The value for you and your child in my experience is more than worthy.

This book has great explanations of mathematical concepts for parents and teachers alike. While teachers may feel that many of the ideas in here are familiar, I did find some new tricks as well, and I've been teaching for years.

Gardataur

It is not a curriculum, nor should you be doing worksheets and formal math with very young children. Rather, this is just a very inspiring, well-written set of ideas for the parent to keep in mind as they go through the day with their little ones. I would also note that I have an advanced math background and found the book surprisingly rigorous for the material it covered.

Much, much better than worksheets, if you order one math book for your pre-K child, this is it.

This has been a great reference and idea grabber. My son is only 1 year old, so obviously I haven't really been aggressively using this book yet. But I have read parts of it and love the concepts pointed out and things to watch for and ideas of when to begin teaching what and in what order to teach them.

I have two other books designed to help little ones learn basic math concepts, but this one is the best. It's quick to read, easy to understand, and full of helpful ideas. I highly recommend it.

I think it is great for any parent that wants to get their head around how to start teaching maths to their children. It give parents ways to make all different types of maths fit into your typical day with out even touching workbooks.
