My school used the Stewart calculus book/series for the first of three semesters of course work. I just feel that this Briggs book gives me a fair chance to get through the homework and it isn't just a bunch of equations that look completely daunting. It is readable and overall, I'm very happy with this book. Books a la Carte are unbound, three-hole-punch versions of the textbook.
