Swift Summer

Very good and challenging as far as the puzzles go. Unfortunately size and soft covers are also challenging (unless you sit at a desk). Soft covers and writing are not a good lap combo. Need hard cover or, better yet, a downloadable pdf version, a five star improvement.

I just wish they had given a more detailed description of how to solve the ones in this book specifically because I have done other Kakuro puzzles, and these are harder than most.

I tend to try every Kakuro book I can find and have several others in the series. Volume 1 contains puzzles that are significantly easier than the others in the series that I have tried. A good Kakuro starter book, but not recommended if you are into Kakuro.

I have a copy and just ordered my second copy to give as a gift. Puzzles are excellent bathroom fodder! My wife was particularly pleased with the larger difficult puzzles towards the back. I highly recommend this for anyone who like to do kakuro!

When I first started the Dave LeCompte Kakuro book, I was a little disappointed. After having completed the Mensa Kakuro and the Black Belt Kakuro volumes from Conceptis, these puzzles seemed too easy. However, I have to admit that the puzzles are quite cleverly constructed. They are different in that once you have filled in all the more obvious sums, you will get to a point where you have to solve a moderately tricky section and then the entire puzzle will simply unravel. Kakuro solvers will know what I mean. This is probably more fun for Dave LeCompte than for the solver. I'm recommending this series (there are a bunch of volumes) for three reasons. 1. Great for beginning and intermediate. 2. I've completed all the better volumes out there. 3. You can download these books very cheaply and legitimately at [...] for like $3 a volume.
