By Jane Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith. 12. Jane Austen’s writing. It was still the best part of the book, and there was plenty of it there to make reading Pride and Prejudice and Zombies tolerable. Chapter 1. IT IS A TRUTH universally acknowledged that a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains. I’ll be grabbing some real Austen soon, however, so I can cleanse my literary palette. Seth Grahame-Smith is the author of the New York Times best seller Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter. What I love about Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is what Grahame-Green did with the characters. He also wrote the screenplay for the Tim Burton film Dark Shadows. He lives in Los Angeles. They are free and empowered and, in the case of Miss. Elizabeth Bennet, somewhat psychotic.

He called Seth Grahame-Smith, an LA-based television writer, who takes up the story . But Lost in Austen had an obvious target audience – single women in love with the romance of Austen's world – while Pride and Prejudice and Zombies seems a more unlikely marriage of fan bases.

I told him it was the most brilliant idea I'd ever heard. The success of any pastiche lies in its ability to capture the tone of that original, and in this Grahame-Smith has succeeded admirably. By inserting his zombie battles into Austen's text in appropriate style, the structure and the bulk of the book's contents remain hers

And the atmosphere kept a good mix of an old Pride and Prejudice feel while also adding a new element of dark zombie-apocalypse tension that I loved seeing. There were a few parts that I rolled my eyes at, especially when things got a bit too dramatic between the lead characters Darcy and Elizabeth, but all in all it was a good movie that I enjoyed. Very surprised to say I give this movie an 8/10.

As a mysterious plague falls upon the village of Meryton and zombies start rising from the dead, Elizabeth Bennett is determined to destroy the evil menace, but becomes distracted by the arrival of the dashing and arrogant Mr. Darcy.
