She argues her point with clarity and really gets you thinking about whether your current practices with horses can be improved upon. There is a very good section on how horses learn where she describes the process of positive and negative reinforcement and other scientific terminology, in a way that makes sense and is easy to understand.
Horses in the United States (that's where I live) cannot survive without the assistance and management of. .Unless a little patient, knowledgeable training goes into training a horse to perform under saddle, the horse isn't ready. That's unethical in my book.
Horses in the United States (that's where I live) cannot survive without the assistance and management of mankind. Domestic horses are the historic byproduct of humans managing horses. Domestic horses could not survive if they were not cared for by humans as their feed and water sources are human dependent as is their safety and their social structure. Clearly it is morally right for horses to have a relationship in which mankind manages, preserves, protects and enriches the lives of horses.
