Once upon a time, Spin-Off Magazine had a contest for spinners to submit their favorite small projects. This book is full of the winners, and there are not only some great designs, but fabulous short cuts and easy ways to do things.

If you like to do smaller projects, scarves, hats, mittens, gloves, socks and other small things, you'll love this book!

If you are a beginning knitter, try out some of these projects. They're all guaranteed to teach you something new. A neat trick to make things easier or neater or better.

I bought this copy because I've moved a few times and can not find my copy, and I just couldn't live without it. When I got that first copy, I sat and read all the projects and directions from beginning to end, because once I started to read, I kept finding neat little tricks for doing everything. And I was an experienced knitter then.

I think you'll love this book, too!

I purchased this book used and was pleasantly surprised that there were so many patterns. Hats for all ages, booties for babies, and mittens for all with fiber that is even and uneven (nothing wrong with that!). The handspun used to make these items looks like my own handspun, not perfect - but perfect for me.

The patterns are well written, the photos aren't the best, but they're good enough. If you're a novice spinner and you see patterns with multiple colors, you will realize that you can get all the colors you need from one braid of hand dyed fiber. Just pluck the colors you need and off you go.

This book is a nice showcase for handspun yarn no matter what your experience level. It will inspire you to work your handspun up (to worsted weight) or down (to lace weight), and to experiment with color.

I have been looking for the Homespun, Handknit book for a long time! It arrived quickly in mint condition! The patterns are easy to follow and not too difficult! I had this book before but it was damaged in one of our moves. I was thrilled to find that Linda Ligon had this book!

I was using a friend's book to knit one of the hat patterns from some scrap self-striping wool I had in my stash. It seemed to turn out well. I would like to make the "hoodie" pattern out of my alpaca. It will be very soft and very warm!! I checked out the book on Amazon and couldn't beat the price to add to my knitting library. I would recommend the book, the projects seem fairly straight forward. I would call myself a middle of the road knitter, nothing fancy but can follow a pattern well.

I am usually pleased with anything done by Interweave Press, and this book is no exception. It is beautifully done - nice photography, clear directions, short bios of the contributors, easy projects, more challenging projects....need I go on? It is printed on nice quality paper, and the book is big enough that it will lie open as you follow the directions on your needles. This book contains a lot of smaller projects that will be great to work on in the summer months (think Christmas!) when I don't want a heavy project on my lap. Some of these projects I have seen in other books, but it is nice to have them here together. A good choice for your home library.

I've always loved this book!! One occasion where I went to a knitting group, my copy never made it back to my basket!! Whoever has it, I truly hope they are enjoying it! I'm overjoyed that it is still in print! Miss my notes, though! Thanks!

Can't wait to try some of these patterns. Because this is an older book the yarn weight ratings found in new patterns are not there. I may need to do some samples. Still a good book.

This book is just what I was looking for. I spin my own yarn and trying to figure out if my homespun is about the same size as some store bought yarn was difficult as a new knitter. The patterns are listed with the yarn measured in wraps per inch, so I can easily measure my skein of yarn and see which patterns it's suitable for. I will be trying out a few more of the patterns as my knitting skill improves..
I've already made one of the hats and it's really cute.
