I just got this yesterday, so I tried it out on a couple of my summer school students and it was a hit. The flaps are in the shape of silhouetted people and animals. At the beginning of the book is the situation that there is a monster in the book but where???

With the exception of one very sensitive student who didn't want to read about monsters, the others were delighted and intrigued. They were all 4 - 6 years old. I can't wait to use this book with my regular students in the fall. I will probably be buying this book for a little boy I know for Christmas. Too bad it wasn't around when my children were little....

This book is adorable! My friend's 3yo really loves to read this book or rather have grandma read it. I got it for my baby niece, and cannot wait to read it with her. The mommy loved the book though!

I read this book to the children I work with aged 6 months to 5 years old. They are OBSESSED with it! Every single child loves this book! I read it in a "scary" way for the older kids and they ask for more each time. The babies sit in rapt attention, wanting to flip each flap. Such a great children's book!

Kigabar

I read this to my kindergarten class today (5-7 year olds). They all loved it and asked me to read it again! Cute book! Clever illustrations. This is great to show children that monsters are often our imagination! Before we opened each flap we guessed what the monster really was. I'm on here to buy my own copy now so I can read it to my grandchildren. My students have been taking it to read all day long during their free time. That shows it is a hit!
