I can not fathom how this book garnered all the five stars. I had to force myself to finish thinking there had to be something to justify it. There wasn't. I can't even figure out what I was supposed to take away from this experience. Waverly and company were flat. Like a low low low budget rip of Sex in The City with boring people. No plot, no meat, no joy, no humor. Instead of laughing at Waverly's 'humorous' dates/falls/mishaps, I rolled my eyes till they hurt.

But the absolutely most annoying issue I came across is the fact on the verge of thirty supposedly *professional* individual can not start a sentence without "Uh" or "Um". Hell, she can barely put a full sentence together most of the time and she's dealing with other professionals & famous athletes!

Don't even get me started on the annoying "Honey Notes". They read like rejected Seinfeld jokes. The only thing I found intriguing about this book is why the Jake character would want this flat Waverly character. I already own the next three books but there is no way I'll read them. This installment already cost me time out of my life I'll never get back. I'll eat the cost of the other books and consider it a lesson learned: before buying books read the 1,2 and 3 star reviews first because the overwhelming five star reviews are incomprehensible for this book. The author/publisher/pr agent must have a lot of friends....or perhaps I've set the bar too high?

If you make the mistake of buying and reading this book that line will / ought to make you cringe.

My goodness! What a STINKER. I might have given this book two stars but wanted to bring the overall rating down in any way I could so you avoid the drivel as it deserves to be avoided. I quickly glanced at the attractive price ($3.99) and 4 star overall average (Really?) and purchased from my Kindle.

I read all sorts of books: non-fiction, thrillers, historical fiction and some "chick-lit" from time to time to give my brain a breather. I am in no way a snob when it comes to romantic comedies whether they are on the screen or in print but there is nothing genuinely cute or clever in the book. It is written like no woman on the face of the planet has ever had a bad date / embarrassing situation like that crazy ol' Waverly has. And the "honey notes" she writes are cringe inducing . . .

Don't be a cheapy like me - pay the $10 bucks for the Kindle book you REALLY want to read instead of $4 for this garbage.

To give the author credit, there are five or six funny lines in this book. Sadly, they are surrounded with stilted dialogue and at least one hundred pages of filler. Every character, no matter how minor, is described as to height and hair color. A hotel room warrants over a full page of description. There is an exhausting number of pages dedicated to listing Waverly's bad dates. Unfortunately, there is no learning curve for why this keeps happening.

There are a number of background plots with not enough meaningful connection to the story. What is the purpose of starting the book with Waverley getting dumped a week before her wedding? What did she learn from this? How did it advance the plot? The same goes for her relationship with her father.

The "Honey" notes were a major source of irritation. Had they only been used as title headings, it would have been fine. Instead, they become padding to try to cover up the major issues with plot. Convincing the reader that these were supposed to turn the country upside down and propel Waverley to fame and fortune was a major step over the believability line.

Ironically, very little time is spent by our drunken, clumsy leading lady with the man who is supposed to be the love interest in this book. I don't think I have ever read a romance novel where I knew so little about the hero. As a result, the ending is silly and unrealistic.

This is not a book I would ever read again.

Scream_I LOVE YOU

All you females thinking about internet dating and dating in general should buy this eBook now. I have been in many dating circles and find the stories quite feasible, also this detailed story is a scream and had me rolling in laughter at the antics of so many would be "daters."
1st dates asking their intended partners to share the bill, others on 1st dates taking their partners to run down take-a-ways.
This story is delightful and makes one realise that a " no show " at the wedding itself can be so hurtful, and places the intended bride in a very loss of confidence for the future.
Although this is fiction I found it to be so true of real life with endless anecdotes narrated.
This sad female becomes a columnist for single women with a series of stories, many horrific, others outstanding and unbelievable. Yet, many so amusing. There is so much detail that this novel becomes most gripping and I eagerly kept turning the pages to find my mind entering a new world of make believe.
This writer takes my romance reading to new heights of superb understanding about dating and the thrill one encounters.

Rolling Flipper

Maybe I've been spoiled by actual plot lines and good writing, but this was terrible. Over 80% of the story was a seemingly endless pity party about how terrible her life is, a string of low slung ponytails, overly described outfits, and descriptions that sound like they came from a teenager dreaming of finer things. Then BOOM, overnight Waverly is rich and successful and semi-famous and random hot successful guy, who had been able to find her the entire book but didn't, is going out of his way to have a super amazing surprise date and she floats off into an empowered perfect love filled sunset
