My spiritual director, who is a very spiritual and discerning priest, recommended this book to me as he had found it very worthwhile.

The author has a clear and experiential grasp of mystical theology and the process by which a soul is purified and led to union with God. Far from being a purely theoretical treatment, one feels that the author speaks from intimate experience and knows your own struggles, capable of accompanying you in the process through the manner in which he explains what takes place between the soul and God, and how we are to cooperate with God as He works within us.

Clearly a worthwhile guide for those who wish to develop their interior life in preparation for eternity and as a path to a deep relationship with God in this life.

Written for the souls already well into the advanced stage (Illuminative way) of spirituality, Manual For Interior Souls has a powerfully authentic Catholic treatise on the 3 ways of the spiritual life. It's written in deceptively easy, but inspirationally deep, chapters, covering various topics with each topic honing in on particular aspects of the spiritual journey that the LaGrange or Tanqueray classics can't quite cover. One will gain much from this book, but only if they are ready. I would give this book 10 stars, if possible. Unique Classic!

I came upon him in suggested readings at the end of The Spiritual Life by Evelyn Underhill, the 20th Century english mystic. Grou's theology reveals a sound approach to God written in the Catholic Tradition at the end of the 18th Century. I use it daily.

This is a great book but it is for those who have been practicing prayer for a while at least contemplative prayer and especially if they can't find a good spiritual director who understands their call to contemplative prayer this book is very helpful it's almost All you need to read about the spiritual life.

This is a far better-prepared product than your electronic/Kindle version of Grou's "Hidden Life of the Soul." Anyone who compared the two would be surprised at the difference. Is there any way this publisher can be got to prepare a Kindle version of "Hidden Life"? The one you're selling is terrible, as I indicated in my review of it.

If you are Catholic and serious about wanting to become a saint, I believe Fr. Grou's book is a helpful guide.
