I can't put into words the satisfaction and happiness when I saw that not only had this series of books were now on Kindle but that Cynthia Harrod Eagles,. aka CHE, was writing another book.
In 2007 the condition I had in my neck became acute so my activities severely limited and the constant pain was challenging . So I turned to books, Reading has always been my passion and had been since I was 10 years old. I always had at least one book in process at all times. So this time more than ever I needed books to occupy those sleepless nights and boring days,
I love historical romances and family sagas one of the books I ordered was "The Foundling". I was able to lose myself completely. My next order was for the entire set.
I felt rich, an entire drawer in the guest bedroom so that I could never be without one. It was the best medicine I could get. Of course there were times that the pain was too acute to read but I knew once I got through the flare up I would rejoin the Morlands.
I finally caught up with the series and had to wait until November of each year to see what had happened with the wonderful family.
The story centers around a house and the family who passed it on from one generation to the next. And the history of England is at the forefront but told from the eyes of not only the government but of the citizens. I learned more about the suffragette movement than any other book of that era.
I am 65 years old, I can't even calculate how many books I have read and having been a good Catholic School graduate who spent the last week of every school year cleaning up our school books page by page I am very careful with them,
I can read a book and it looks brand new. All of them especially this series were sacred to me.
I usually give my books away as I had never reread a book. Not so with any of the books in this series. They filled three shelves of my bookcase still in the spare bedroom.I wouldn't even loan them out.
Suddenly it was announced that the next book would be the last. The original contract was to bring the series to the present day.
Blogs were formed on Amazon and Face Book from loyal readers from the U.S. were livid, We wrote to the publisher, I was even able to get an address for CHE and wrote to her. She replied that the publisher would not relent and thanked me for my interest.
The last few books were just as good as they all were. All of the previous 33 books started where the last had ended. Then the next book skipped 5 or so years. This was the end.
I have re read these book, the entire series one year.
Now I need this series on Kindle more than ever. Our house was severely damaged from hurricane Sandy. It is now 6 months that we have been living at our business. We had 5 ft of beach sand in our home and sadly to say my entire collection of these books was ruined. I watched all of my downstairs furniture taken away but those books sitting in the trash were the worst.
And just when you think things can't get worse. BAM. My husband decided to remove the oil tank while we were remediating the mold. the results came back that the tank had leaked! They are taking samples this week. Best case we dig up the driveway etc,
Worst case, we will have to tear down our home. We will find out in several weeks. I was devastated, It was during this time that I looked up the Morland series and found it all on Kindle. I was elated, I got one and felt immediately that in a way I was home. It will take me a long while to get them all. And then the bonus, the over the top too good to wish for announcement, a new book in November.
Please don't miss this series. I envy those of you who will be reading it for the first time. Don't even give it a second thought. Buy the first one and I guarantee you will be back for the rest. and Amazon, do more advertising for these hidden jewels.

As a lover of well written and researched historical novels, Cynthia Harrod-Eagles did it again-I couldn't put that book down! I have gotten hooked on the Morland Dynasty series of books! It is such a pleasure to read a very well written book these days, as many seem to have been written in a hurry, and without a lot of research for authenticity of the time periods. Cynthia's books, however are VERY well written. The way she depicts the time periods of the stories make you really feel like you understand what it was like to live "back in the day", and her characters are very well defined and real to me-and I like them. Her writing style is like artwork in letter form -a rare gift. I like buying these second hand, as the value is great and will allow me to read the complete series without breaking the bank!

Every time I read a book in this series I'm excited to read the next one. I love historical novels and the characters are well developed.
I'm disappointed that all books in the series are not available in Kindle editions.

I love this author and love this series. It is a very enjoyable way of learning some history but with a good story .

I love the variety of characters, how she weaves in history. She's good at bringing the characters to life.

While I enjoyed the book I was horrified t the amount of typographical errors which at times made it difficult to follow the story!

boy do i love this series! only 2 or 3 are at the library, so i am buying as i read. wonderful!

Super-easy to keep the history of England straight and the plots are easy to follow. Am now ready to order # 6 and 7.
