The Orphan Child book.

The Orphan Child book. I hadn't read any Catherine King books for a while, I had forgotten just how good they are. The story is full of twists and turns, the orphan child, Sarah Meadow, has a far from easy start to life and although things improve for her for a while, her life takes another turn for the worst. Sarah is a survivor, she is a hard worker and she is determined. You can't fail to admire her spirit.

Little Sarah is found in the snow: an orphaned new-born baby. She is taken in at Meadow Hall in South Riding, Yorkshire, to be trained as a scullery maid. Feisty and headstrong, at fourteen Sarah decides to run away

Catherine King was born in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. Catherine wrote ten novels, including A Sister's Courage and Her Mother's Secret. The Orphan child was a very powerful read and one that had me imagining i was there watching everything that was going on from the hardships of the 1800s to eventually finding real happiness.

The Orphan Child (Paperback). Catherine King (author) . King superbly evokes time and place in this page-turning story of one woman's brave battle for survival - Lancashire Evening Post. The Child is the boss of the fourth stage, Inquisition, and is the third boss of the game. It takes the form of an undead baby with a pacifier in its mouth. Vincent enters the door, unaware of what awaits him. Gibberish and a shriek of "Daddy!" pierces his ears, alarming him and causing Vincent to dash up. This begins the final boss of the Inquisition. See: Inquisition 4-2.

Little Sarah Meadow is found on Christmas Day: a new-born baby, very soon to be an orphan. As her unnamed mother breathes her last, Sarah is taken in at the grand Meadow Hall in South Riding, Yorkshire. As soon as she can hold a scrubbing brush, her working life begins. Feisty and headstrong, Sarah's temper often leads her into trouble. At just 14 she decides to escape the life of a servant and run away. Dressed as a boy, she meets good-hearted Aidan and impulsive Danby, forming an unlikely but happy trio. Sarah's true identity eventually comes to the surface after nearly a year, along with new feelings for Aidan. He plans to rescue her from this miserable place just as soon as he can, but something keeps Aidan from his promise—and nearly takes his life. Reunited as adults, and now strangers to each other, Sarah holds a secret about Danby, Aidan, and her unborn child.
