After reading SIGN OF THE UNICORN, the third book of the series, I am well and truly hooked. The world-building and character development on display here are the reasons Zelany's name is among the most recognizable in science fiction. Even though the plot was not really resolved satisfactorily, the richness of character in this volume restored the excitement I had for Amber in the first book, and has made me eager to continue the series.
