I loved her and loved the book. Jo-Ann Mapson is an excellent author And, what was Mapson trying to say about Chloe's mom? Were the horses supposed to symbolize some kind of randy sexual totem that makes some women revert t. . Jo-Ann Mapson is an excellent author. And, what was Mapson trying to say about Chloe's mom? Were the horses supposed to symbolize some kind of randy sexual totem that makes some women revert to Neaderthals who just like men for sex, who get pregnant drop the baby in the dirt and hobble off into the sunset to find another man? Why trivialize these wonderful characters so? I'm almost ashamed to admit it, but when I'm fortunate enough to find characters with whom I can empathize, I feel betrayed when they don't live up to my expectations.

She dropped out of college to marry, but later finished a creative writing degree at California State University, Long Beach. Following her son's birth in 1978, Mapson worked an assortment of odd jobs teaching horseback riding, cleaning houses, typing resumes, and working retail. After earning a graduate degree from Vermont College's low residency program, she taught at Orange Coast College for six years before turning to full-time writing in 1996.

This is another great book by Jo Ann Mapson, not the greatest piece of literature but such an insightful and absorbing read! It is great!.
