Joseph Crosby Lincoln (February 13, 1870 – March 10, 1944) was an American author of novels, poems, and short stories, many set in a fictionalized Cape Cod. Lincoln was born in 1870 in Brewster, Massachusetts, on Cape Cod, and his mother moved the family to Chelsea, Massachusetts, a manufacturing city outside Boston, after the death of his father.
Howard Heath (1879 – 1969) was the artist who illustrated L. Frank Baum's two "Sam Steele" books, Sam . The Depot Master, Joseph C. Lincoln (1910). Illustrated w/ B&W frontis + 3 full-page plates by Howard Heath. Color illustration on front cover is unsullied, bright & colorful. Book is slightly canted, but still securely bound. Hinges are both sound. Red cloth, oval color illustration set in front cover, white letters. Spine bumping, hd & ft, corners. Hd & ft of spine are worn; there is a hint of sun-fade along leading edge of front cover. DJ is in poor condition with bottom half of spine missing & chips & tears along edges, especially front cover (all closed).
