Some useful tips. Annoying liberal theology embedded, but it at least gives you a blueprint if yoyu've never organized a big event before.

This is a good basic book that provides persons in churches and organizations who plan retreats a good tool for considering the basics and implementing them into the planning process. I recommend it.

This is a practical planning manual for beginning retreat leaders, and is useful in educating church councils on the reasons for spiritual retreats. What it provides in ideas for places, activities, and risk-management, it lacks in depth or theory about the stages of retreat process.

Well written, engaging and balanced look at how to prepare for leading a retreat. In addition to nuts and bolts info, it encourages consideration of hospitality issues. I was required to purchase and read it for a class...enjoyed it and would recommend it to others considering retreat planning.

This is an okay book. It's audience is definitely protestant so maybe that's why it didn't fulfill what I was seeking. It still had some good ideas for incorporating various key elements of a retreat: Spiritual senses through setting. Unfortunately, I was spiritual director for an upcoming Catholic retreat and I still struggled in the planning of our church's women's retreat.
