Course Description For most of the 19th century, the humanities and the sciences were not clearly distinct. The course includes a few secondary readings and several films. Assignments include one short paper, one longer paper, and an oral presentation.
Course Description For most of the 19th century, the humanities and the sciences were not clearly distinct. The intellectual and professional terrain was not neatly divided between science on the one hand and humanities and social sciences on the other. Rather, participants took part in ongoing collaborations and discussion that included science, literature, the arts, education, and politics. Attendance Since this is a discussion/lecture class, attendance is mandatory.
