I saw her on a show with the medium Kim Russo a couple years ago. She was checking out her haunted house and I just fell in love with Loretta Lynn. There's something about her that is indescribably appealing. This book is just wonderful.

The story Loretta weaves with the help of George Vecsey is one of struggle, growth and success. What you won't find here are nasty tales. Loretta is too much of a lady for that. I just saw the 1980 Sissy Spacek film Coal Miner's Daughter (if you've never seen it, you have to, believe me it's worth it), and when I heard that there was a book about the real Loretta Lynn as well, I couldn't wait to read it.

I love Loretta Lynn and Sissy Spacek. This gives great background to the movie. Lynn appears to be candid about her life, both good and bad, and provides a bit of insight into the world of country singing.
