Joey Bishop was the least-known of the Rat Pack and became the last of the group to have a biography written about him with this demeaning book. It is written tabloid-style by a writer who appears to go out of his way to denigrate his subject. In the final pages the writer reveals why the book is filled with so much negativity-Bishop wouldn't cooperate with him on it and in his one face-to-face meeting with the star, the author felt verbally attacked. Okay, so Joey was hot-headed with co-workers and as he aged got grouchy. There are dozens of similar stories of rich Hollywood celebrities that are the same.

Maybe the fact he wasn't the top talk show host, wasn't the most compelling comedian, wasn't the nicest guy, made we want to see how this guy ticked.
